DESCRIPTION:ASIA is participating in Mitzvah Day Akron on June 6\, 2026. We will host two different volunteer projects that families can join: \n🥦 Prepare materials and tents for our beloved and culturally inclusive farmers’ market in North Hill\, HAPI Fresh. As the biggest culturally inclusive farmer’s market in North Hill Akron\, ASIA is preparing for their 2026 season by spray-painting logos on safety vests\, fixing traffic signage\, checking tents and more. These supplies help ensure smooth operations of our HAPI Fresh Farmer’s Market. \n👖 Sort through clothing donations and prepare our space for a community closet for neighbors in need. ASIA seeks to build out an unused space in their office as a temporary community closet as need grows. This will include organizing\, sorting\, labeling\, along with displaying items clearly for clients and patients to easily sift through. \nBoth projects will take place in ASIA’s Akron office at 370 E Market St. Signups should be done through Mitzvah Day Akron’s website here.

DESCRIPTION:Time to get our heads in the game – Asian Services in Action will be participating in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 50/50 Raffle Fundraiser at the Cavs vs Kings game on Friday\, January 23 at Rocket Arena. Volunteers will help sell raffle tickets at the game where one winner will be drawn at the end of the night to win half of the total winning pot. 20% of the proceeds will be donated to ASIA to go where they are most needed. \nJoin us for a high-octane and exciting evening with the Cavs by signing up to volunteer as a seller! Transportation can be available\, and volunteer hours can be signed off for students. Volunteers will be trained and sell through the third quarter\, after which they are free to watch the fourth quarter as standing room audience. Our Pearl Anniversary will be celebrated this Fall on Saturday\, November 1st\, 2025 to honor the legacy of serving\, supporting\, and advocating for not only Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) but also refugees and immigrants as they integrate into our Northeast Ohio communities. \nOur mission continues as we navigate the changing landscapes of funding\, both federal and local\, and how to best adapt to the ever persisting needs of our newcomer neighbors. \nEarly bird ticket pricing will go from July 15 to August 1 for $75 per person and $700 a table. Regular pricing will be $100 per ticket and $800 per table. DESCRIPTION:In this course\, you will learn about alcohol and other substances\, and how they impact your physical\, social\, and emotional well-being. You will also develop skills needed to build a healthy lifestyle\, and receive information about community resources that offer help and support. \nThis course takes place on Wednesdays from 10AM-11:30AM from May 7-June 11. They will take place at ASIA’s Akron location\, at 370 E Market St\, Akron\, OH 44304. \nNepali interpreters will be available for all sessions\, and walk-ins are welcome.
