AAJC: The Obama Administration Revises Policies to Help Immigrant Families Stay Together

From the Asian American Justice Center:

Today the [Obama] Administration announced that it will begin a new process in the coming months that will direct certain visa applicants to file their applications for family unity waivers in the U.S.

“We applaud the Administration for removing an unnecessary bureaucratic obstacle to family unity,” said Karen K. Narasaki, president and executive director of the Asian American Justice Center (AAJC), member of the Asian American Center for Advancing Justice (Advancing Justice). “AAJC, together with a diverse group of partners, vigorously advocated for this technical change, which will benefit U.S. citizen spouses and parents who frequently depend on their loved ones for financial and other support.”
