With particular attention to those with limited English proficiency, our staff provides a wide range of services for clients such as nutrition and safety education, emergency food support, community resources, and meaningful service opportunities.
Through financial literacy programming, health screenings and outreach to homebound seniors, we are able to arrange extra support for those who need it most. Ultimately, the goal is to empower older adults to flourish through participation in civic life.

Lucky Seniors
The goal of Lucky Seniors is to improve the physical, mental, and social health of limited English proficient seniors through nutritional and socialization activities.
This senior congregate meal and wellness program engages seniors from throughout Northeast Ohio regularly for educational, nutritional and social activities. When in session, seniors enjoy:
- Culturally relevant and nutritious lunches
- Exercise through group activity or using the facility's wellenss equipment
- Arts and crafts
- Educational sessions on topics ranging from health to civic engagement
- Field trips to parks, facilities, and activities around Northeast Ohio, and more!
Currently, we partner with Jin Huo Community Senior Center to provide full-spectrum senior services.
Senior Benefits Access
Multilingual program assistants offer support for seniors who are eligible and applying for senior public benefits using Benefits CheckUp. Our team connects low- and moderate-income individuals with appropriate tax credits and public assistance that help seniors across multiple needs, including:
- Health care coverage
- Home energy assistance
- SNAP Benefits
- And more.
If you need additional information about tax and benefits assistance or would like to schedule an appointment, please contact Susan Wong.
Fraud Prevention Program
ASIA partners with Pro Seniors (based in Cincinnati, OH), who receives funding from the Administration on Aging, to educate seniors on understanding their Medicare statements, detecting potential fraud and errors, and what steps to take to correct mistakes. This project helps older Americans become wiser health care consumers.
For this project, Pro Seniors trains ASIA’s older adult volunteers who are often retirees. The volunteers then in turn educate groups of other older adults throughout the community about illegitimate Medicare practices or provide individual assistance to those questioning the accuracy of their statements.

Resources
Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging
The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), a program of the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging, provides information, assistance, and referrals. A telephone evaluation is conducted to assist callers and their families in identifying their long-term care needs and options. ADRC representatives also provide verbal and written information and professional guidance to enable callers to make informed choices and gain access to long-term care services, including an arrangement for a free in-person assessment with one of the Agency's Community Resource Consultants.
Calls received by the ADRC representatives range from a simple request for a "phone number for home-delivered meals" to "what kind of services are available" or "am I eligible for help from your Agency."
Services are available for residents of Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lorain, Lake, and Medina Counties.
