ASIA Awarded Grant To Provide Legal Assistance To DVSA Victims

Asian Services In Action, Inc. (ASIA) received a 3-year Legal Assistance for Victims Grant to expand ASIA’s culturally appropriate, linguistically specific services for Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) and other immigrant victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and sex trafficking, to include holistic and comprehensive legal services.

The AAPI population in ASIA’s 15-county Northeast Ohio service area, encompassing the cities of Cleveland and Akron, is large and growing. Despite this growth, ASIA is the only linguistically and culturally specific organization in the region that provides supportive services for sexual assault victims and survivors.

The goal of the Legal Assistance for Victims (LAV) Grant Program funding is to expand ASIA’s culturally appropriate, linguistically specific services for AAPI and other immigrant victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking to include holistic and comprehensive legal services.
