Ghost Fleet brings awareness to present day slavery and illegal fishing practices that have depleted the Gulf of Thailand’s seafood stock. In order to maintain their multi-million dollar seafood industry, Thai companies are kidnapping and coercing men into slavery to man their ships and cargo. Some men escape the everyday torture of being beaten, starved, and drugged by jumping ship and swimming to small, remote islands nearby. Ghost Fleet follows Patima Tungpuchayakul, co-founder of the Labor Rights Promotion Network Foundation, and her team as they journey from Thailand to these distant islands in an effort to help these men return home.
