HHS Listening Session: Providing Language Access to Those We Serve

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced a listening session for Wednesday, September 12, 2012, from 2:00 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. EST, on improving HHS’ provision of effective oral language assistance and written translation services, utilizing information technology to ensure meaningful access to language access services by individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP), and increasing the availability and quality of language assistance services to individuals served by HHS.

HHS is holding this session to gather stakeholder input as the Department updates its’ “Strategic Plan to Improve Access to HHS Programs and Activities By Limited English Proficient (LEP) Persons”.  To participate, RSVP by noon September 10, 2012 to Donnamarie.Spencer@hhs.gov.
