NATIONAL KOREAN AMERICAN COALITION TO END DOMESTIC ABUSE
Korean American Family Services & Center for the Pacific American Family’s Host Joint Press Conference in Los Angeles
CLEVELAND, OH – In recognition of the National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, NKACEDA (National Korean American Coalition to End Domestic Violence) hosted a press conference on Tuesday, October 20th to kick off the national launching. This year, NKACEDA’s first historic annual gathering took place for Article Image3 days in May in Los Angeles, California with 20 participants joining from 7 organizations. And with joint efforts, we are now officially launching our website and announcing the national formation of the coalition. Domestic Violence is prevalent in the Korean American community yet lack of awareness, stigma, language, and other barriers leads to underreporting. Victims suffer in silence as our community remains largely underserved. NKACEDA was formed by Korean-serving organizations who have been largely working within our local communities but want to share knowledge with one another and create a stronger, national voice to address Domestic Violence.
