The International Institute of Akron and Building HOPE in the City will hold the first-ever New American Cafe for refugee families in Akron, OH!  Featuring speakers from the Akron Public Schools and the domestic courts.

Bhutanese, Burmese, and KaRen interpreters will be present.  Members from other ethnic communities are advised to bring at least one English-proficient representative.

Come for important information for your child’s ‘Back to School’ success!

  • Activities provided for adults, children, and teens.
  • Snacks provide; participants are welcome to bring food to share
  • FREE give-away of school supplies
