The Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation in Cleveland has a new events calendar for the New Year! Click here for their calendar of events in January and February 2012 (Chinese and English). Some highlights from their recent email bulletin below:
- Friday, 1/20/2012, 6:00pm: Vegetarian Cooking Demonstration for Colleges Students. Pot stickers/dumplings – a traditional dish for Chinese New Year. Please RSVP with your College Students’ Association before 1/16/2012.
- On Saturday, 1/21/2012, 11:00am to 5:00pm: Tzu Chi Cleveland will participate in the Chinese New Year Celebration activities organized by the Asian Plaza and the Asian Town Center in the China Town area. Books and teachings by Master Cheng Yen on display at both locations.
- On Saturday, 1/28/2012, 11:00am to 1:00pm: Winter Relief at the Liberty Center (E 100th Street and St Clair) distributing household cleaning products, personal hygiene products, paper towels, blankets, jackets, scarves, bagged lunch, etc. We are still collecting winter coats for adult males and females for this event. If you are planning to reorganize your closet, please consider donating some of the out-dated items for the needy!
- Annual New Year Prayers/Blessings Ceremony in the Cleveland Tzu Chi Foundation’s Highland Heights facility on Sunday, 2/12/12 (in Chinese) from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Also, another Prayers Service in English on Saturday, 2/11/2012 (in English) from 10:30 am – 12:00noon.
