Asian Services in Action, Inc. is hosting an exclusive interpreting training called “Affordable Care Act (ACA) for Interpreters 101–Version 2.0.”  Please feel free to share this with any interpreters you may know on your staff or in the community.
 
Training Dates
Saturday, November 14 from 10:00am – 11:30am(Akron office) -or- Wednesday, November 18 from 6:00pm – 7:30pm (Cleveland office). See below for location details.

Training Locations
Akron – 730 Carroll Street, Akron, Ohio 44304
 
Cleveland – 3631 Perkins Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44114 — Please park at the parking lot east of the building.  You can enter the building through the side door up the ramp.  When you arrive at the door, dial ASIA’s extension and we will buzz you into the building. Our office is located on the 2nd floor. You may take the elevator or walk up the steps which are next to the elevator.  When you get off the elevator, turn left and then turn left again.  If there are any questions or if you get lost, please call 216-881-0330.
 
Goal
The interpreter will gain knowledge about the Affordable Care Act and understand what to expect while interpreting at an appointment.  
 
Training Details
There will be a 1.5-hour presentation that will provide information on the Affordable Care Act and common terminology used.  Participants will receive a “Certificate of Completion” for completing the training.  Only ASIA interpreters who complete the training will be contracted to interpret for ASIA Affordable Care Act Outreach/Education and Enrollment appointments.  The following topics will be covered:
  1. What is the Affordable Care Act?
  2. Medicaid Expansion in Ohio
  3. Healthcare Marketplace
  4. What to Expect at an Appointment
  5. Affordable Care Act Terminology
