Breaking Boundaries in Healthcare® (BBiH)
BBiHÂ is a one-of-a-kind medical interpreter training course to train interpreters in the health care professions.
It is open to speakers of 42 languages and follows a curriculum that is the first required step toward national certification for medical interpreters. The 40-hour course provides bilingual individuals with the skills required to deliver accurate and complete medical interpreting in health care settings.
This training will help interpreters, health care providers, and administrative staff work more effectively with LEP (Limited English Proficiency) patients.
Participants who pass both the written (English) and oral exams (English and native languages) will be issued the ALTA Certificate of Qualification – a path to interpreting jobs with agencies all over the country.
