BRIDGING LINGUISTIC BARRIERS IN THE COMMUNITY

Translation

Our translation program provides official translation, proofreading, and editing services in the areas of:

  • Legal
  • Medical
  • Business
  • Scientific
  • Most general documents

Rigorous standards of quality control are an essential part of our translation process. Our translators work exclusively in their native tongues and in their areas of specialization. All texts are proofed by a second native speaker who ensures that the accuracy, fluency, and style of translation is in-line with the clients’ specifications.

On-Site Interpretation

Our program’s network of bicultural interpreters has experience in consecutive interpreting.

Clients are treated in a professional and courteous manner. Because we understand that the needs of each client are unique, we are happy to match an interpreter or team with the skills, knowledge, and experience required by our clients.

Our interpreters are available for various settings and situations such as:

  • Business meetings
  • Site visits
  • Medical appointments
  • Health care assessments
  • Depositions
  • Court appearances, and more

Interpreting is also available via telephone or Zoom.

We are always recruiting freelance interpreters! If you are interested in working with us as an interpreter, please contact our department to learn more about requirements.

Breaking Boundaries in Healthcare® (BBiH)

BBiH  is a one-of-a-kind medical interpreter training course to train interpreters in the health care professions.

It is open to speakers of 42 languages and follows a curriculum that is the first required step toward national certification for medical interpreters. The 40-hour course provides bilingual individuals with the skills required to deliver accurate and complete medical interpreting in health care settings.

This training will help interpreters, health care providers, and administrative staff work more effectively with LEP (Limited English Proficiency) patients.

Participants who pass both the written (English) and oral exams (English and native languages) will be issued the ALTA Certificate of Qualification – a path to interpreting jobs with agencies all over the country.
