ASIA, Inc. Celebrates Women's History Month

March is Women’s History Month, dedicated to the study, observance, and celebration of the vital role women have played in American history. Surprisingly, it wasn’t until the early 80’s that an entire month was dedicated to women and their contributions to American society.

On March 7, 1982, Congress requested and authorized the President to proclaim that week as Women’s History Week. Over the next five years, Congress continued to pass resolutions designating one week in March for the celebration of women in America. In 1987, with the help of the National Women’s History Project, Congress passed a law recognizing March as Women’s History Month. Since 1995, Presidents Clinton, Bush, and Obama have issued annual proclamations that have recognized March as Women’s History Month.

To celebrate, each week during this month we will be highlighting the women who serve ASIA, Inc on this post, as well as our social media pages. Click the banners below to meet the dedicated women of ASIA, Inc.
