ASIA, Inc. Stands In Solidarity with El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio

Akron, OH – We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the devastating assaults that resulted in 31 deaths and 50 wounded this weekend in El Paso, Texas and in the nearby city of Dayton, Ohio.  Asian Services In Action, Inc. strongly condemns the anti-immigrant rhetoric and sentiment which has been linked to the crime in El Paso.

We offer our heartfelt condolences to those who have lost loved ones and to other communities that are affected by these tragedies. “We stand in solidarity with our communities, especially our immigrant communities, recognizing their resilience and the strength they bring to our country,” says ASIA, Inc. CEO Elaine Tso. “As the leader of the largest human service agency in Northeast Ohio, I commit to continue our work at ASIA, Inc. to empower and advocate for all of our immigrant neighbors.”

ASIA, Inc. will continue to insist on steps to ensure families and our communities are safe. We call on all Americans, including our leaders, to raise their voices for the safety for all persons everywhere.

In solidarity,
Asian Services In Action, Inc.
