Take Action: Call Senator Rob Portman Now and Demand Support of Loretta Lynch’s Immediate Confirmation to be the Next United States Attorney General
It has been five months (Nov.8,2014) or 167 days since Loretta Lynch was nominated for United States Attorney General. While her expertise and credentials are universally praised, some members of the U.S. Senate are blocking her confirmation because of her statements in support of the legality of President Obama’s actions on immigration. In fact, the Senate failed to even schedule a vote for her confirmation!
Throughout her career, Ms. Lynch has stood for justice, the protection of human rights and dignity for all. Ms. Lynch’s prestigious legal career includes twice heading one of the most important U.S. Attorney’s Offices in the country where she demonstrated her commitment to ensuring equal opportunity and the fight against violence committed on account of a victim’s race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability.
Please join us in sending a letter to Ohio Senator Portman saying that his constituents want to see Ms. Lynch confirmed and to ask Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to hold a vote.
