Cleveland Listening Session Recap

Last month, on January 28th nearly 100 community leaders, and residents held an open dialog with over a dozen federal agencies at Ariel International Center in downtown Cleveland for the Mid-west  regional community listening session.

ASIA Executive Director, and WHAAPI Commission, Michael Byun opened the dialog with welcoming remarks.

ASIA Staff, Susan Wong, Cathy Vue and Sujata Burgess provided additional remarks on 3 of the 4 breakout session topics, outlined below.

  1. Housing and Education
  2. Health, Human Services, and Social Security
  3. Immigration, Labor, Workers’ Rights
  4. Economic Development and Business

Cleveland Ward 14 City Councilman Brian Cummins presents proclamations to Radhika Reddy & WHAAPI

The breakout sessions gave community members and leaders an oppritunity to dive deeper into the four main issues the community at home faces. The session ended with federal represtatives from each session providing a summary of the breakout sessions and next steps to address the communities needs.
