ASIA, Inc. Hosts Financial Literacy Workshop for Refugee Community

For nearly 40 attendees, this was their first time learning basic financial skills such as banking, budgeting and the importance of credit.

As part of Asian Services In Action, Inc.’s (ASIA, Inc.) Financial Capabilities program, the program strives to teach Tweens, teens, and their partners, caregivers and educators about financial literacy topics.

This free event was held two times during the month of September to Burmese and Nepali speakers at the Lakewood Public Library. The event was held in conjunction with the Thinking Money exhibit, which is on display at the Lakewood Public Library main library branch. The exhibit will be on display from September 1, 2017 through October 6, 2017.

The event, hosted by ASIA, Inc., was in partnership with Thinking Money which was developed by the American Library Association Public Programs Office in collaboration with the FINRA Investor Eduction Foundation, whose support made this exhibit and event possible.
