Medicaid Defunding No Longer Being Considered

This week, various health care organizations throughout the State of Ohio helped block the Butler Floor Amendment that would have defunded Ohio’s current Medicaid expansion.

The amendment would have removed ALL funding for Group 8 (Medicaid expansion population) from the budget bill (HB 64) and remove all references of Group 8 from the Ohio Revised Code. Defunding Medicaid expansion will cut off coverage for more than 500,000 low-income Ohioans. Health centers like ICHC see firsthand the benefits of Medicaid expansion.

Through your community activism, State Rep. Butler held the introduction of his amendment to remove Medicaid Expansion from the budget that would have happened on the floor tomorrow.

You made a difference today, and it showed!
