The 15 APA Women Leader Spotlights

CONCEPT
The National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum is celebrating 15 years of progressive activism, sisterhood, and justice for Asian Pacific American women and girls. As the only national multi-issue APA women’s organization in the country, NAPAWF is proud to join forces with Angry Asian Man and Hyphen Magazine to honor the contributions of APA women leaders. From the labor heavyweights to the student activists to the working moms who are organizing in their neighborhoods, we’re celebrating the fierce work of our favorite women leaders in the months of October and November.

INVITATION
Nominate a deserving APA woman-identified activist for a spotlight day in this campaign. Tell us who should make our list by filling out a short nomination form. If chosen, we’ll spread the word out about your profiled sister on your spotlight day and your work with dedicated media coverage and webpages on Angry Asian Man and Hyphen Magazine. You and your profiled women leader will be asked to raise awareness for this campaign and help raise funds to benefit
Asian Pacific American women and girls, with proceeds going to the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum.

PARTICIPANT COMMITMENTS
Each profiled sister will be asked to fill out a brief questionnaire, submit a headshot/photo, and help fundraise with their sponsor organization or sponsoring individual. The profiled sister who raises the most amount of funds in the lifecycle of this campaign (Oct 17 – Nov 4, 2011) will win a brand new iPad for the person or organization who nominated them.

* There may be additional interview coverage opportunities for sponsoring organizations, individuals, and sisters.

TIMELINE
Deadline for all nominations will be Friday, October 7, 2011 at 7 pm PST. Campaign launch date: Monday, October 17, 2011
