VOTE Mural By ASIA Intern Mai See Lor Now Has A Permanent Home In New Akron Office

In 2018, Asian Services In Action, Inc. began working with Akron’s local artist, Mac Love to create a community mural aimed to encourage the Akron community to vote. The mural, which features the word “VOTE” in over 15 languages, embraces the joy of voting through diversity and inclusion. Aspiring youth artist and ASIA, Inc. intern, Mai See Lor led the North Hill Diversity and Freedom Mural Project including the design.

“The inspiration for this mural starts at the root of my community,” Mai explains. “I was really fortunate to grow up in a diverse community, and working on the VOTE mural allowed me to represent my community in a creative and artistic light. I had a great opportunity to work with local artist Mac Love, who shared so much passion for this project. I not only wanted to educate about voting but to display the people that voting effects.”

The mural now has a permanent home in the new Akron office, located on 370 East Market Street.
