Zack Hicks
2012-2013 AmeriCorps VISTA member

Working out of ASIA’s Akron office, Zack’s mission is to establish the immigrant community in Akron as an accepted, financially-secure community, while supporting the progress made by Cleveland’s immigrant community towards becoming nationally-recognized.  Zack graduated from the University of Akron in 2010 with a Bachelors of Arts in Geography — Planning Track.  He likes watching and playing sports, photography, nature, traveling, and playing his guitar.

Dana Silverman
2012-2013 AmeriCorps member for Community Health Promotions

Dana grew up in Palm Beach County of southeastern Florida.  She is a mother to 3 children who has worked in various health care settings for approximately 20 years. She was also the owner of a private companion/home care agency for nearly 8 years.

Dana studied criminal justice at Palm Beach State College (formerly PBCC), and received her AA in Medical Assisting from National College in Stow, OH.  She attends Christ Community Chapel in Hudson, OH.  Dana is a CNA as well as an RMA.  She has a heart for humanity and wants to serve wherever and however she can to create an impact on our communities and beyond. Jon Wong
2012-2013 AmeriCorps member for Children, Youth, and Family

A new resident to Cleveland, Jon graduated from the University of Toledo with an Associate’s degree and Bachelor of Arts and Science in Business Management Technology.

Jon is passionate about community service in minority areas and enjoys learning how to positively impact others.  During his time with ASIA, he hopes to learn more about the after-school program and engaging local organizations in ways that will help immigrants, refugees, and others in community.

Jon also holds a Children Ministry certificate. He wishes to expand his love for and devotion to God by serving kids and their families.
