12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

According to the 2010 Census, the population of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) in Ohio has grown by 47% since 2000.  Other Midwestern states have also seen rapid AAPI population growth: 75% in Indiana, 36% in Michigan, 38% in Illinois, 33% in Minnesota, and 26% in Wisconsin.

The AAPI Midwest Regional Action Summit will convene senior Obama Administration officials for a day of open dialogue with members of the Midwestern AAPI community.  Participants from the community and government will work together to create an action plan for empowering the AAPI community in the Midwest.  During the Summit, participants will:

1.      Establish a space where community leaders can inform the Obama Administration about issues of concern to the AAPI community;

2.      Learn about federal resources and programs available and develop solutions to address these issues; and

3.      Develop opportunities for community leaders to inform one another about innovative approaches to meet the needs of AAPI communities across the region.

 The Summit is free and open to the public until full.  Registration is required to attend:
