ASIA, Inc. Participates in national 'Welcoming Week'

Asian Services In Action, Inc. (ASIA, Inc.) will be one of the nonprofit organizations participating in Welcoming Week, a national annual event, taking place from September 15-24, 2017.

During this annual series, communities will bring together immigrants, refugees, and native-born residents to raise awareness of the benefits of welcoming everyone. Initiated by Welcoming America, Welcoming Week focuses on building stronger communities by bringing together immigrant and U.S.-born residents.

Changing the rhetoric, shaping the immigrant experience, arming our values, and living up to them as a nation are enormous tasks and will take all of us, working together. But never have we been such a powerful movement.

Over 1 in 9 Americans live in a welcoming community, including many cities right here in Ohio. Together, we can make every community the kind of place where diverse people from around the world feel valued and want to put down roots. Together, we can build a nation of neighbors.

In 2016, there were nearly 400 events in 150 communities, with more than 50,000 people participating and over 14 million social media impressions.
