Akron, July 11, 2023 - Asian Services in Action (ASIA) is hosting their second annual International Community Festival on Saturday, July 29, 2023.
The festival will take place at ASIA’s Akron site on 370 E Market St, Akron, OH. It will be from 11AM to 5PM. Activities will include a scavenger hunt for attendees to learn more about the different ethnic and language groups represented in Akron, art performances, and food trucks. ASIA is also partnering with local organizations such as Children and Books to provide a free new book giveaway to school-aged children, as well as with University Hospitals to bring a mammogram van on site for community health outreach.
The event is sponsored by local organizations including the City of Akron, Children and Books, Klein Pharmacy, Best Care Pharmacy, Trust and Heal Pharmacy, Summit County Public Health, Shelter Care, and Summit Developmental Disabilities Board. ASIA’s goal for the festival is to celebrate Akron’s cultural diversity as well as highlight community resources that support the growth and well-being of multicultural residents.
“Akron’s international community brings so much culture and vitality to the city,” said Elaine Tso, Chief Executive Officer of ASIA. “We welcome Akron to learn about other cultures at ASIA’s International Community Festival.”
